This Utah & Arizona Concealed Carry Permit Course (CCW) is designed to provide comprehensive training for those who wish to obtain a Utah and/or an Arizona CCW permit. The class will cover a variety of topics, including firearm safety, Utah & Arizona state law, self-defense, and basic shooting techniques.
Throughout the course, you will learn about the fundamental principles of gun safety, including how to handle, store, and transport firearms safely. You will also learn about Utah & Arizona state law regarding firearms, including the legal requirements for obtaining a CCW permit, where and when you are allowed to carry your weapon, and when it is legal to use deadly force.
Additionally, you will receive training in basic shooting techniques, including how to properly hold and aim a firearm, how to shoot accurately, and how to handle recoil. You will also receive instruction on self-defense techniques, including how to avoid potentially dangerous situations, how to de-escalate conflicts, and how to use your firearm in self-defense situations if necessary.
At the end of the course, you will take a written exam and upon successful completion you will receive the paperwork to apply for a Utah & Arizona CCW permit, which is recognized in over 30 states across the country.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced gun owner, this course will provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and confidently carry a concealed weapon in Utah, Arizona and beyond.

Frequently Asked Questions
For classes requiring time on the range, we like to tell clients coming to dress in layers. Bring slacks or pants with belt loops wide enough for a sturdy belt. A short sleeved shirt under a long sleeved shirt with a jacket that opens down the front.
Comfortable and sturdy shoes or hiking boots. Wearing layers enables you to take a layer off as the weather warms throughout the day. A hat with a brim that is comfortable with the hearing protection you will be wearing.
NOTE: If there is no range time required please dress comfortably as you will be in a classroom setting for the duration of the class.
The current total cost for the Utah Concealed Firearm Permit is $238.25. This cost consists of our class fee of $175 and includes (2) passport-quality photos, and (2) FD-258 Fingerprint cards. The Utah background check fee is $63.25 for non-Utah residents making the total for a nonresident $238.25. If you would like to also apply for the Arizona CCW Permit (which is included for FREE with this class), you can buy additional photos and fingerprint cards. The cost is $15 for (2) photos and $25 for (2) FD-258 fingerprint cards.
To obtain your concealed carry permit you must meet all of the following:
Applicant must be at least 21 years of age for the standard permit; at least 18 years of age for the provisional permit
- has not been convicted of a felony;
- has not been convicted of any crime of violence;
- has not been convicted of any offense involving the use of alcohol;
- has not been convicted of any offenses involving the unlawful use of narcotics or other controlled substances;
- has not been convicted of any offenses involving moral turpitude;
- has not been convicted of any offense involving domestic violence;
- has not been adjudicated by a court of a state or of the United States as mentally incompetent, unless the adjudication has been withdrawn or reversed
- is qualified to purchase and possess a firearm pursuant to Section 76-10-503 and federal law
*A criminal background check is conducted for all applicants.
Most people find that trying to leave at lunchtime is impractical. It is recommended to bring a lunch with you.
